Binsar
Binsar is considered to be one of the timeless beauties in the lap of Himalayas. The place is rich in culture, high on beauty and picturesque location and has no connection with the stereotypical life.
Located on Jhandi Dhar hills, it is 33 kms north of Almora district. The major attraction of the place is the Binsar wildlife Sanctuary that provides with a great collection of flora and fauna cover. You can easily see the four Himalayan peaks, Nanda Devi, Kedarnath, Shivling and Trishul from this beautiful valley. Not a lot of people visit this place, and it is one of the most beautiful ye the least visited place by travelers visiting Uttarakhand.
Chopta
Chopta is a small region of meadows and evergreen forest resting hidden in the state of Uttarakhand and is popularly known as Mini Switzerland. A number of budget friendly treks are available from the village that can take you to the unexplored regions of the Himalayas. A clear view of the mesmerizing world and an occasional brush with the clouds is a common attraction of the place. It lies adjacent to Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and is an unspoiled trekking destination which offers trekking trails to Chandrashila Peak and Panch Kedar Temple. The varied flora and fauna cover gives you a perfect reason to snow trek in winters and enjoy the panoramic views of Himalayas, far from the maddening crowds of the city.
Chakrata
Chakrata is the most extraordinary hill station in Uttarakhand which is full of alpine trees and falls en route to Dehradun via Mussoorie besides Vikasnagar. It seems as an ordinary hill station but is not so ordinary when it is visited for the purpose of seeking peace and tranquility. The major attraction of the hill station is Deoban which provides an amazing view of the Himalayan range and can drive you speechless. The Chilmiri Neck at the military quarters offers an exotic view as well. The Chinta-Haran Mahadev Mandir is said to share its history with the Mahabharata period and has a high religious significance. A camp can be setup at Kanasar, if you are seeking an escape from the jostling hotel crowd.
Khirsu
Located at a distance of 19 kms from Pauri, this hill station is yet another hidden beauty in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Located in the heart of Himalayas, Khirsu can be reached within 12 hours via road from Delhi. Covered all around by forest, this little place gives a majestic view of some of the spectacular ranges of Himalayas. Mostly known for its trekking trails, Khirsu is a backpacker’s paradise as it is cheap, easily accessible and offers pristine beauty throughout the year. A major destination to visit is the temple of Ghandiyal Devta which boasts of some amazing views and has done full justice by providing their devotees just the right amount of peace wrapped in the terrific beauty of nature.
Munsiyari
Munsiyari promises to spoil its visitors with its vivid landscape and beautiful vantage points. The visitors can trek to Milam, Ralam and Namik Glaciers, the Nanda Devi Temple, Khalia Top, Khalika Pass, Chiplakot Bugyal and Birthi Falls. One can also experience the journey across the ancient salt route of Tibet. There is a Tribal Heritage Museum at Nanasen Village where one can delve into region’s history and heritage. You can also camp in the surrounding meadows or go rafting in Gori Ganga. Munsiyari still remains as one of the least discovered places in Uttarakhand.
