Key Monastery
Key Monastery is situated close to Kibber, in Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Kibber is the highest motorable village in the world. The monastery is the biggest monastery of the Spiti Valley and a religious training center of the Lamas.
It looks like a house built on the top of another and they are haphazardly spread over the hill cliff. This monastery was damaged many times in the past due to the war, fire and earthquake. The successive trails of destruction and patch-up jobs have resulted in a haphazard growth of box-like structures, and so the monastery looks like a fort, with temples built on top of one another. It is one of the best places for a remote and peaceful location, where not many people bother others, and you can truly be with yourself.
