Day 01: Trivandrum – Kovalam (14kms/ 30 minutes)
Arrive Trivandrum airport, meet and greet with our office representative assistance and transfer to hotel in Kovalam, check in.
Kovalam is a world-famous beach resort, which has been a favorite spot for tourists since 1930s. This beach has lovely coconut palms fringe the golden sands. Foreigners throng Ayurvedic parlors, yoga and meditation centers, that have sprung up all over the place. There are a number of beach resorts in and around Kovalam. The sea port of Vizhinjam is about 3km away and famous for its special varieties of fish, old Hindu temples, big churches and a Muslim shrine.
It was among the most prominent tourist spots in India during the hippy era. It still has a high status among tourists (mostly European) even now the glory of this beach attracting more and more tourists (western). Kovalam is finding a new significance in the light of several Ayurvedic salons, and recuperation and regeneration resorts which provide a slew of Ayurvedic treatments for the tourists. The sands on the beaches in Kovalam are partially black in colour due to the presence of ilmenite and thorazite. There are two main beaches at Kovalam, separated by a high cliff. There is small light house in the Eve's beach. The normal tourist season is from November to March.
Day 02 -04: Kovalam
Breakfast at hotel, day free for personal activities relax etc. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Kovalam – Marari (174kms/ 3hrs)
Breakfast at hotel, drive to Marari (Mararikulam), check in at the resort/ hotel.
Right in the heart of the "spice coast" just an hour from Cochin and even less to Alleppey (also Known as Alpuzzha) is the most fabulous stretch of soft sandy beach fringed with palm, an idyllic retreat for those who want to "get away from it all". Marari originates from "mararikulam", one of the local fishing villages, where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago, with the men going out to sea each day to earn a living bringing in the daily catch.
Marari offers endless miles of superb sand beaches backed by swaying palms, virgin territory where you can experience to local charm and traditional keralan hospitality at its best. The Marari Beach is built in the style of a traditional fishing village with thatched villas that have been designed to be in keeping with the local village style.
Day 06 - 07: Marari
Breakfast at hotel, day free for personal activities relax etc. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Marari – Cochin/ Trivandrum
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Cochin Airport (70kms/ 2hrs) or Trivandrum airport (170kms/ 3hrs) to board flight for your onward destination.
