An ultimate Indian Bike journey through Himalayan hill stations to reach higher altitude valleys of Lahaul, Spiti and Ladakh region. The bike route runs through the some of the fascinating valleys, woods, along the gushing river, mountain passes, and Hindustan-Tibet Road. Experience the two old religion in India, Hindusim and Buddhism and have a chance to visit some old Hindu temples and Buddhist monastery on the way. So, lets the challenge roll.

Trans Himalayan Motorbike Adventure Tour: Complete Itinerary

Day 01: Delhi - Shimla by car (373km/ 7 hours)
Arrive Delhi airport, meet and greet with our office representative assistance. Direct from Delhi airport you will be taken by car/ coach to Shimla. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight in hotel.

Day 02: Shimla with the bike
After breakfast time to check and fix your bikes, later we depart for Shimla city tour. Overnight in hotel.

Day 03:  Shimla - Sarahan Bhimkali Temple (200km / 6 hrs)
After breakfast drive through exciting mountain ranges Vonder Siwalki Hills to the Kinnaur Valley. Lunch will be on the road. Overnight at a temple complex.

Day 04: Sarahan – Sangla (2680m) (240km / 7 hours)
After breakfast bike ride for 90kms. to Sangla (2680m). Situated on the bank of river Baspa in the Baspa Valley, Sangla has many typical houses a Buddhist temple and Hindu temple. Arrive at the lovely campsite for a leisure afternoon. Overnight in the Fixed Camp for 02 nights near Sangla.

Day 05: Explore Baspa valley and Chitkul (3450m)
Full day excursion in Baspa valley in Sangla area with short ride to Chitkul village (3450m). Chitkul village is located at the head of the Baspa valley, the small village has both Budhist and Hindu community. Here we will visit the village temple and explore the charming village and mingle with the locals. There are some pretty walks around Baspa valley and Chitkul. Afternoon time to re-check your bikes.

Day 06: Sangla – Kalpa (2759m) (45km / 2-3 hours)
After breakfast visit Karmru Fort/ temple and the small Baudh mandir (Buddhist temple) temple complex in Sangla. Later ride to Kalpa (2950m) along the Sutlej river and through beautiful pine forests to Kalpa, the former capital of Kinnaur. Enroute. Late afternoon visit the Chini village temple in Kalpa. One the clear day the sunset view of the Kinner Kailash is excellent. Overnight in hotel.

Day 07: Kalpa – Tabo (3050m) (147km / 6 hours)
Today start early ride to Tabo (3050m), along the cascading Sutlej river and then from Khab along Spiti rivers and continue driving through dramatic landscape, to Tabo. If time permits en route visit Nako temple and the small lake. Arrive Tabo and relax. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 08: Tabo – Dhankar – Pin valley - Kaza (3600m) (147km / 6 hours)
Morning visit the ancient Tabo Gompa, often known as the “Ajanta of the Himalayas” because of its paintings. It was built in 996 AD by the great translator, Rinchen Zangpo, who bought the artist from Kashmir to decorate the gompa. It houses very rare frescoes and sculptures. Later we continue ride (77kms/ 3-4hrs) to Kaza (3600m) – the headquarter of Spiti Valley. En route visit Dhankar Gompa (3890m), one of the important Gompa in Spiti valley under the Gelukpa order, is dramatically situated on boulder cliff overlooking the Spiti river. Dhankar is the old capital of Spiti valley and if time permits visit Pin valley (the land of snow Leopard). Overnight for 02 nights in Hotel at Kaza.

Day 09: Kaza – Ki – Kibber (4205m) - Kaza
After breakfast short ride 25 km to Kibber. The highest in habitat village (4205m) in Asia with a population of about 400 people. Visit the small gompa at Kibber and later drive back to Ki Gompa- the biggest monastery in the whole Spiti Valley with about 300 residence lamas (monks). Later drive back to Kaza. If time permits walk around the colourful bazaar of Kaza. This small bazaar is the trade center of the whole Spiti valley.

Day 10: Kaza – Kunzum pass (4551m) - Keylong (3349m) (197kms/ 6-7hrs.)
Early morning set off for a long ride to Keylong, via Losar over crossing Kunzum pass (4551m). Today you will experience some bumpy ride on the un tarmac road at places but the stunning view of the mountains are rewarding. Arrive Keylong (head town of Lahaul valley). Overnight in hotel.

Day 11: Keylong – Baralacha pass (4892m) - Sarchu (4253m) (107kms/ 4hrs.)
Morning after a quick check at the bike we start ride to Sarchu, over crossing Baralacha pass. We follow the Bhaga river via Darcha till Patseo and then assent to Baralacha pass and then descend towards Sarchu. You have to negotiate with the bumps at some places and my have to soak in water while crossing small river. Arrive Sarchu, is the territorial mark between Himachal and Ladakh. Overnight in Fixed Tented Camp.

Day 12: Sarchu - Tsokar (4420m) via Nukeela (4800m), Lachulung-la (4900m)
Today, it goes through arid landscapes in the mountainous region of western Himalaya, also called Pang. Here visit the Tso Kar Lake and say hello to the geese on the lake. The water in the lake is salty - a remnant of the primordial sea. Overnight in Fixed Tented Camp.

Day 13: Tsokar - Tsomoriri Lake (4400m) via Polo Kong ka (4920m) and Namshang la  (4800m)
After breakfast, go to the Tso-Morir Lake, a freshwater lake at 4400 meters. The lake is 80km long and 25km wide. After lunch, free time to explore the area around the lake and Karzok village. Overnight in Fixed Tented Camp.

Day 14: Tsomoriri Lake - Leh (3505m) via Chumathang (220kms/ 7hrs)
Today we drive through the Puga Valley, which meets the river Indus and thereafter we ride along the gushing Indus river. En route pass Chumathang where you can take a dip in the take hot springs and enjoy the mountain scenery. Arrive Leh and check-in to Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 15: Leh – Khardung la Top (5602m) - Leh, (39kms. one way)
On the final day of our motorbike challenge we ride to Khardung la Top – the highest motorable pass in the world at the height of 5602 mts. Above the sea level. This day of the ride is a milestone of our bike challenge. After a quick photo session at the Top we revert to Leh. The day is one of the most interesting day of our bike expedition, most of the terrain is tarmac and last few miles near the top is bit bumpy. On clear day you can capture the panoramic view of Leh town, Indus valley and the snowcapped Ladakh Mountain Range. Revert to Leh and rest of the day free for shopping. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 16: Leh
Day free in Leh for relax or independent activities. Overnight in hotel.

Day 17: Leh - Delhi
Early in the morning transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi, from Delhi board connecting flight for your home country.
